Community Outreach

Are you having a health fair, street festival, health workshop or special occasion? If so, we would love to come and share information about our program and services.

West Oakland Health Council continues to make its presence known in and around the community. We enjoy sharing information about our services and programs with the public and letting our community know about our services.

If your group or agency is hosting an event and would like to have someone from our agency come and share information about our services, or provide screenings i.e. blood pressure, dental etc., please call us at (510) 835-9610 Ext. 2038.

50th Anniversary Gala

West Oakland Health Council celebrated its 50^th Anniversary in February 2019. The Gala was held at the Oakland Marriott and honored several people as trailblazers and pioneers in their respective areas of service through altruism and commitment to excellence.

For 50 years West Oakland Health has championed the health of the East Bay African American community and strives to meet the needs of the region’s growing and diverse population. West Oakland, East Oakland and Berkeley have long relied upon the West Oakland Health Council to provide affordable, high quality healthcare services.

Acts Full Gospel Car Show

Acts Full Gospel Community Health Fair and Car Show

West Oakland Health Council participated in the Acts Full Gospel Community Health Fair and Car Show on August 24th from 10AM-4PM.

Laurel Street Fair

West Oakland Health participated in the 20th Annual Laurel Street Fair World Music Festival held on Saturday, August 10, 2019 from 11AM-7PM.

We provided resources and information to the public and let the community know we have five locations to serve and provide information about our services.

In the Town Juneteenth

Councilmember Loren Taylor of District 6 hosted the first annual In the Town Juneteenth and 2019 MAP Awards on Saturday, June 15th from 12-6PM at the Eastmont Town Center Parking Lot.

The Juneteenth brought the community together and festivities included entertainment, dance, theatre, art and music including Hip Hop dance lessons, a step show and kid’s corner fun and games.

West Oakland Health Council was there providing information on our services and locations.
